Tula

I expected Tula to be no different than any other Indian restaurant, but to my surprise it was!

I haven’t been trying a lot of new restaurants lately but I’ve also found that the trendiest, newest restaurants rarely live up to their hype.

I typically categorize restaurants as meh, ok or good.

Meh is when no ones talking about how yum the food is. When you eat it but it just is unremarkable.

Ok is when it is pretty much exactly what you expected and nothing about it surprised you. Not the taste, not the vibe, not the service. You probably can pick your favourite dish but you won’t be rushing back for it.

Good is when you take a bite and can’t help but comment. “Oh fuck yeah, shit ok, that’s good.” As you eat it, it somehow gets better and you wish you were more hungry so you could try more things.

But instead you know you will find a reason to come back!

I was happy to find out that @RestoTula was actually worth their low key hype! All vegetarian and/or vegan, the “meat” listed is a substitute and plates were of course shareable. We were only two but both plates were bomb!

Tula is good because not only were the dishes delivering complex yummy AF flavour but the service was kind caring and cool. They are newly open and instead of taking for granted that people will want to check it out, they truly check in with you and ask for valuable feedback. You really get the sense they want you to come back. In fact they actually ask you to come back and share with friends, leave a review and tell them how you enjoyed it :)

We tried the butter chicken and a rice dish that I already forget the name but everything looks amazing. The price also feels right for the quantity and quality!

So check it out <3
